Artist Statement
Tariq Muhammad is a young artist who is still exploring his creative mind and wants you to accompany him on his journey. Focusing on realism and portraiture, Tariq's work is detailed and easily recognizable. He is looking to incorporate more abstract themes in his art while also staying true to his culture as a black man. The growth that he hopes to do as an artist should excite you as much as it does him. Tariq specializes in colored pencils but is also refining his skills in digital art and painting as well.
About Me
I am currently a student at Amherst College in Western Massachusetts. Expecting to graduate in December of 2024, I am a double major in Law and Studio Art. I would love to combine these two long-term passions in my future career. Drawing has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember while Law has piqued my interest since the sixth grade. I am currently doing all I can in order to make this dream a reality.
